Ritholtz Wealth Management Revamps Investment Conference with Hip-Hop Stars and Financial Experts

At this event, more than 2,500 people have come together to listen to hip-hop's renowned artists Method Man and Redman, along with renowned financial commentators such as Jeremy Siegel, Jeff Kleintop, Emily Roland, Cliff Asness, Jeff Gundlach, and Jan van Eck. There are various activities such as dancing, swimming, surfing, yoga, pizza, sushi, beer, and wine tasting. Throughout the four day event, there are multiple networking dinners with the intention of allowing young RIAs and investors to interact and have fun. Over 2,500 investors and financial advisors have come to Huntington Beach, California, otherwise known as Surf City USA, for a financial conference. The beach is indeed the location - and the attendees aren't just here to learn from the experts. Hip-hop legends Method Man (Wu-Tang Clan) & Redman (Def Squad) will be performing Tuesday night, while financial celebrities like Jeremy Siegel from Wharton/WisdomTree, Jeff Kleintop from Charles Schwab, Emily Roland from John Hancock, Cliff Asness from AQR, and Jeff Gundlach from DoubleLine, as well as ETF and commodity maven Jan van Eck, can all be seen. The conference, called FutureProof, was created by Barry Ritholtz, co-founder, chairman, and chief investment officer of Ritholtz Wealth Management, as well as CEO Josh Brown. It is billed as "the largest gathering of top-tier wealth management professionals, CEOs, CTOs, COOs, and fast-growing financial advisors," and is an opportunity for social interaction as well as content delivery. The organizers are attempting to give traditional financial conferences a modern twist. Early morning yoga classes, for example, have a special instructor - a Goldman Sachs instructor! There will also be seaside yoga, and salsa and surf lessons. For those looking to learn even more, there is a wine vs. craft beer debate, pizza dough techniques, sushi-making, and even barbecue techniques. The conference also includes lectures and panels covering a range of topics, such as "The Personal Brand Blueprint: 5 Easy Steps to Attract High-Value Clients in 2023," and Dan Ives from Wedbush's "Five Tech Predictions for 2024." Morningstar will also be there with experts talking about retirement, 401(k) planning, market timing, and private equity investing. And when the day is done, the emphasis is still on personal interaction. There are networking dinners and parties on the beach, where people can meet each other and connect. It's sure to be an exciting and exhilarating four days full of surprises - who knows what could happen?
