In the past year, OnlyFans' profits have seen a dramatic increase, and reports of its owner earning more than $300m (£238m) in dividends has raised renewed inquiries about the porn mogul.
Leonid Radvinsky, a 41-year-old Ukrainian-American businessperson, is estimated to be worth a net total of $2.1bn.
He purchased the firm in 2018 from Guy and Tim Stokely, a father-son duo who had established it two years prior with an investment of £10,000 ($12,500).
It is believed he has forked out millions for it. Yet the identity of the purchaser and the source of his funds remain a mystery.
In other words, not much is known about Mr. Radvinsky. He keeps his personal life firmly under wraps and has only given a few interviews.
Though it appears he is not keen on being in the public eye, there are clues to his life on his LinkedIn profile and personal website.
It is stated on Mr Radvinsky's LinkedIn page that he is a venture capital investor, philanthropist, and technology entrepreneur, showing a special focus on developing social media platforms.
Mr Radvinsky reports on his website that over the last two decades he has created software companies and given to the open source movement.
Mr Radvinsky, who hails from Odesa, a port city located in Ukraine, made a charity donation to the relief cause in his country, the worth of which when converted into regular currency was estimated to exceed $1.3m in 2022, as reported by CoinDesk.
Mr Radvinsky affirms that he devotes a great deal of his time, energy and finances to philanthropic objectives, such as charitable organizations and tech-related initiatives.
Apart from coding and charity work, his Website states that he is a passionate reader who loves a chess game and is aspiring to become a helicopter pilot.
When he was just a kid, his family migrated to the US and they made Chicago their new home, as the Daily Telegraph revealed. Currently, he resides within "sunny Florida"; however, the exact location is uncertain.
Forbes has reported that the billionaire is married, though the BBC has been unable to confirm the identity of the spouse.
Mr Radvinsky has a history in the pornography industry, with this not being the first venture he has undertaken.
Mr Radvinsky graduated from Northwestern University near Chicago, IL in 2002 with a degree in economics. Since then, he has explored many initiatives as an entrepreneur.
Before becoming the only owner of Fenix, the parent company of OnlyFans, he had set up a website referral service called Cybertania.
Forbes states that from the late 1990s onward, the business provided customers with links to passwords for accessing content such as adult material.
Prior to investing in OnlyFans, he had already managed a successful adult webcam business.
Mr Radvinsky declined to be interviewed by the BBC.
Despite being based in the US, Mr Radvinsky's company Fenix, which owns OnlyFans, remains registered in the UK.
The UK is the location of the firm's CFO, Lee Taylor, as per Companies House records.
Records accessible to the public indicate that Guy Stokely, who is both an investor and founder, left Fenix, OnlyFans' parent company, at the end of December 2021.
During the same period of time, Tim Stokely, who is the offspring of Guy, relinquished his role as the leader of OnlyFans in order to "engage in fresh activities".
Under the ownership of Mr Radvinsky, OnlyFans has experienced considerable success. It is no longer exclusively identified with pornography, and some of its highest profile creators post content that is acceptable for all audiences.
In August 2023, a firm with headquarters in London reported pre-tax profits of $525 million, an increase from $432 million in the prior year.
In the previous 12 months, the number of creators on OnlyFans increased by 47%, reaching almost 3.2 million, while the number of users grew by 27%, reaching almost 239 million.
The platform has yet again drawn criticism and gained notice from regulators and governments.
BBC News announced in 2021 that OnlyFans was unsuccessful in stopping minors from selling and appearing in explicit videos.
OnlyFans stated that their age verification systems exceeded regulatory requirements.
