You can make use of Apple's new iOS 17 iPhone update to generate photo sticker emojis to put into your iMessages. Any image saved in Photos can be used to create static or GIF stickers. This feature is accessible to individuals owning iPhones released in 2018 or after.
Apple recently unveiled iOS 17, the latest major update that's available for those with an iPhone from 2018 or later. What I've been using the most is the new customizable sticker emojis. For instance, you can make a sticker out of an image of your dog or baby and place it in a group chat. Plus, it's possible to develop your own GIF stickers from live photos; it's enjoyable, so I'll demonstrate how to do it.
1. Make sure your phone is running iOS 17. To check, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, install it.
2. To create a sticker quickly, open a picture in Photos and use Apple's Visual Look Up tool. Tap and hold the subject of the image, and the subject will be lifted from the photo when you lift your finger from the screen. When the menu appears, select "Add Sticker".
3. To open the sticker emoji keyboard, go to iMessages and either start a new conversation or open an existing one. Tap the plus symbol to the left of the messaging field, and select Stickers from the options. This is the tab that displays all of the saved custom stickers.
You are able to create a sticker within iMessage. In the middle of a conversation, click the plus sign and go to "Stickers". You will be able to view all your saved stickers, and next to them there will be a larger plus sign. Upon selecting the plus sign, you can access your photos which can be made into stickers.
Creating GIF stickers is a breeze. All you have to do is find the Live Photo of your choice. This will create a GIF sticker you can add to your iMessage conversations. Applying the sticker to an iMessage conversation is simple. You can either add it to the message composition field, or you can reply to specific words with a sticker. The most straightforward way is to open the stickers menu and drag and drop it into the conversation. And if you'd like to be extra creative, you can even stack multiple stickers on top of one another. It's as easy as that!
