Zuckerberg Not Expecting Cage Match with Musk

Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Meta, has stated that he is not optimistic that the proposed cage fight with his opponent Elon Musk will actually take place. In a post on the new social media platform Threads, Mark Zuckerberg stated that he proposed August 26th as the date of their showdown. In reaction to the post on X wherein Musk asserted he was engaged in training "all day long", Zuckerberg commented: "I'm prepared right away... though he hasn't confirmed yet." In July, the two went head-to-head following the introduction of Threads. A Threads user inquired if the struggle was willingly agreed upon, to which Zuckerberg answered it was more like "funding secured", likely alluding to Musk's statements from 2018 when he divulged the similar about his intentions to make electric car company Tesla a private entity. That deal came to naught, leading to a $20m penalty for Musk via the US financial markets watchdog, his resignation from the post of Tesla's chairman, and he is now restricted in what he can tweet about Tesla. In the past few months, the social media tycoons have been trying to one-up each other, and Elon Musk stated on Sunday that their face-off would be streamed live on his X platform, formerly known as Twitter. Musk stated that the money earned from a game would be donated to veterans charities. When inquired about the rationale behind the bout by an X individual, Musk answered: "It's a civilized version of conflict. People have an affinity for it." Zuckerberg rebuked the notion of broadcasting the fight on X by saying: "Wouldn't it be better to use a dependable platform that could truly generate money for charity?" It appears that the risks are great following Meta's introduction of Threads during the initial days of July, gaining over 100 million registrations within a few days. X, another social media platform, has met with rebuke multiple times since Musk's leadership of the organization (which was known as Twitter), having instituted many transformations, for instance, making it necessary for people to sign up to be able to check publications. Besides, he carried out considerable dismissals within the firm. In June, Musk published a post on the social media website indicating that he was ready for a cage fight - a fight with limited regulation. Zuckerberg then took a screenshot of Mr Musk's tweet and wrote "send me location" in the caption. Musk replied with "Vegas Octagon". The Octagon, synonymous with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), is the designated fenced-in mat area utilized for UFC matches that take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Musk, aged 52, noted: "I have a maneuver aptly named 'The Walrus', in which I basically just lie down on top of my adversary and do nothing." In a subsequent tweet, he posted videos of walruses, seemingly implying his challenge to the Facebook head may not have been fully sincere. On Sunday, Zuckerberg declared his enthusiasm for martial arts and stated that even if things don't go as planned, he will still go on competing with fellow martial artists.
